It has been said that we have about 60,000 of them a day. Many of them sparked by a question, which require us to answer, ultimately yielding our results. For a long time, my questions looked like this:
Why can’t I stay motivated?
Why can’t I eat whatever I want?
Why is it so hard to lose the weight and keep it off?
If you look at these questions, what answers might come back?
Because you’re lazy. You know you hate running. It doesn’t do you any good anyway.
Because you have a slow metabolism. You have no self-control. You are addicted to sugar.
Because you don’t know what you’re doing. You have to stay away from the carbs.
However, if you asked yourself questions like,
How can I make exercising more fun?
How can I make eating healthy be more enjoyable?
How can I make eating healthy easier?
What answers might come back?
Make sure I have my best playlist ready, or watch Scandal while I’m on the elliptical. Join a running club.
Experiment with new recipes, have a potluck with my girlfriends where we bring our best healthy delicious recipes
Spend a little extra money for pre-prepped vegetables, make sure I have my frig stocked, so I don’t have to eat out
Think about the questions you ask yourself throughout the day. Write them down. Notice if they lead you down the path of negativity or the path of creativity. If they are on the negative side, look at how you can phrase them to serve you powerfully.
